Hebron Gov. Khaled Dudin said Monday Israeli forces had withdrawn from the West Bank city and displaced families could return after a 10-day military operation.

The Hebron Governorate said the withdrawal extended across the city, naming Jalda and Ain Deir Bahha among the areas included. It said authorities were preparing arrangements for residents to return safely.

At an Oct. 29 press conference, Dudin said 537 families, totaling 3,361 people, had been displaced. He gave both a household count and a total number of people four days before Monday’s announcement.

The operation followed an Oct. 23 shooting. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said two Israeli soldiers were killed and three others were lightly injured. EconoTimes previously covered continued Israeli incursions in Hebron during the campaign.
