As one of the most highly anticipated upcoming games in the industry, “Red Dead Redemption 2” has fans rabid for any new information about the game that they could get their hands on. So when details about the bonuses that gamers could get if they pre-order the title were leaked, it was only natural that they would get around fast.
As Digital Trends notes, someone had apparently jumped the gun at the Microsoft store, which led to certain details being revealed earlier than they should. This particular set of information was likely reserved for an announcement at E3, but now the cat’s out of the bag.
The details were quickly removed shortly after they were leaked, but it provided the internet enough time to get a screenshot of the page. Among the extra pieces of content that gamers will apparently get include a special War Horse for the Xbox One version, along with an Outlaw Survival Kit, as well as an R2D2 Story Mode cash.
A pre-order can also yield bonuses for one of Rockstar’s other major franchises in that it would provide players of "Grand Theft Auto V: San Andreas" some extra cash. This is only usable for the online mode, however.
“After pre-ordering your copy of 'Red Dead Redemption 2' through the Microsoft Store on Xbox, this GTA $500,000 bonus can be downloaded by searching for ‘$500,000 for 'Grand Theft Auto Online’ on the Microsoft Store,” the listing reads.
As Game Rant notes, there have since been several speculations with regards to the functionality of the bonuses due to the language used to describe them on the listings. Some items had Story Mode attached to them and some didn’t. This could be a means of differentiating which items are available for the story campaign and which will be found only through the multiplayer mode.
