Hindustan Times reported President Donald Trump commented on Ohio Sen. Jon Husted’s physique at a Daytona Beach rally Oct. 30, days before Husted’s Nov. 3 special election.
The Republican event listing scheduled Trump’s remarks for 7 p.m. ET at the Ocean Center. The Associated Press reported that he spoke at the Daytona venue Friday. Hindustan Times quoted Trump as describing Husted’s backside as “all muscle” and his legs as “very powerful.”
The report followed earlier appearances where Trump also discussed Husted’s appearance. A Roll Call transcript records similar remarks at an Oct. 25 rally in Port Huron, Michigan. At rallies in Youngstown on Oct. 12 and Northern Kentucky on Oct. 17, Trump discussed Husted’s build, hands, shoulders, feet and jawline, according to EconoTimes’ earlier reporting on Trump’s comments about male politicians at midterm events.
The University of Dayton’s 2026 football guide lists Husted with 17 interceptions from 1986 through 1989, third on the school’s career list. The university identifies him as an All-American at cornerback and kick returner. It says he started for the 1989 team that won the NCAA Division III national championship and intercepted a pass in the title game.
Husted is running against former Sen. Sherrod Brown in Ohio’s Nov. 3, 2026, special election, according to EconoTimes’ earlier coverage. The Federal Election Commission lists that date as the next regularly scheduled federal general election.
