‘Homeland’ season 6’s episode 8, titled “Alt.Truth," is set to follow Saul as he enlists a despondent Carrie’s help. The two are set on presenting valuable evidence to President Keane.
The brief synopsis for episode 8 posted on Showtime reads, “Carrie (Claire Danes) and Saul (Mandy Patinkin) present evidence to Keane (Elizabeth Marvel). Quinn (Rupert Friend) tracks a mark.”
The promo opens to Saul walking up to Carrie in her bedroom. Carrie looks very much distressed while wearing earphones and hunched over on her bed. Saul approaches her and gently says, “So, obviously not the best time to ask… but I’ll need your help.”
It seems that Carrie and Saul will work together to provide valuable evidence to president-elect Keane that may help them solve their investigation. Perhaps that the truth behind the recent events will finally be revealed as long as Carrie and Saul don’t stray from their mission.
It will be interesting to see if President Keane will finally lend the two her undivided attention and if she will believe the evidence presented. Carrie and Saul are clearly depending on this evidence and will be willing to risk their lives.
In the previous episode, titled “Imminent Risk,” Carrie’s daughter Frannie was taken away by the child protective services on grounds that she was an unfit mother. According to the recap on Refinery29, Carrie attempted to make her case to investigator Christine Lonas (Marin Hinkle), who believed Frannie was in danger considering Carrie’s latest incident with Quinn. Frannie was eventually surrendered to a foster home.
Carrie drank her misery away and tried to ask President Keane for intervention on her case. However, Keane said that this would be unethical. In the end, Christine received a phone call from Dar (F. Murray Abraham) confirming that it was him who reported Carrie to child services.
‘Homeland’ season 6’s episode 8, titled “Alt.Truth," is scheduled to air on March 12, 2017 on Showtime. It was directed by Lesli Linka Glatter and written by Charlotte Stoudt. It will be followed by episode 9, titled "Sock Puppets," directed by Dan Attias and scheduled to be released on March 19.
