DUBLIN, Ireland, May 03, 2018 -- Horizon Pharma plc (Nasdaq:HZNP) today announced that Sangita Iyer, director, financial planning and analysis, has been named a 2018 Healthcare Businesswomen's Association (HBA) Rising Star. Sangita will be honored today at the 29th annual Woman of the Year event in New York.
The HBA is the leading not-for-profit global organization committed to furthering the advancement and impact of women in healthcare worldwide. Sangita is being recognized for her exemplary leadership, dedication to the healthcare industry, as well as her significant contributions across the company.

Sangita joined Horizon Pharma in March 2015 as senior manager, financial planning and analysis, operations and R&D, and was promoted to her current position in August 2016. She has taken on assignments of increasing responsibility and leadership at Horizon, including working as the finance lead for implementation of SAP Supply Chain. Prior to joining Horizon, Sangita spent six years at Fenwal, Inc. where she was manager of financial planning and analysis, responsible for manufacturing and supply chain and rotated roles in supporting research and development, general and administration, as well as commercial. She started as a senior financial analyst at Transfusion Therapeutics, a division of Baxter, which became Fenwal Inc. She holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Mumbai, India, a professional chartered accountants degree from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and a master’s degree in finance from University of Texas, San Antonio.
