Houston, Texas, Feb. 08, 2018 -- Houston Window Experts, a family-owned and operated window company in the greater Houston area, today announced an essay scholarship contest to support American students in their educational goals.

The selected essay winner will receive a $2,000 scholarship to be used for academic purposes, including tuition and textbooks. The scholarship will be awarded for the fall 2018 semester.
The scholarship was created as a tribute to Angie Ludy, who passed away from glioblastoma in 2017. Angie served as a missionary for over 50 years of her life, helping families and individuals facing hardship in Mexico.
“Although she didn’t have much of a formal education, Angie spent her life encouraging people to learn as much as they could by studying and volunteering,” said Jeff Ludy of Huston Window Experts. “We hope that this scholarship motivates students to pursue education in all forms.”
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be attending a U.S. college or university full time, and must be interested in pursuing a career in the field of medicine. Each applicant must submit a 500-word essay detailing a personal experience with customer service.
The essay submission deadline is July 1, 2018. Once submitted, the essays will be reviewed by the Houston Window Experts Scholarship Committee, and the winner will be selected and contacted by August 1. Information about the scholarship winner will also be posted on the Houston Window Experts website.
