Nowadays, artificial intelligence reached to the point where we can use it almost everywhere at any time. Scientists created artificial intelligence mainly to help human beings do certain things or to provide them with information regarding anything they are interested in. Although some people were and maybe still are afraid of it or just don’t like the idea of artificial intelligence, probably because they’ve seen Matrix and didn’t understand that the movie was a work of fiction, the artificial intelligence continued to evolve so that we can use it in any circumstances.
So, now that we know the real purpose of artificial intelligence and are (probably) not afraid of it, let’s think at how implementing it might change your restaurant forever.
With globalization, the scenery of dining is in a continuous evolution. This frequent and fast change is due to the different people that come to the restaurant. When I say different I mean culturally, and since every culture is different in taste, that’s the reason why restaurants have to keep up with the tastes and trends.
With this kind of requirements, many restaurant owners tend to question themselves if artificial intelligence can come to the rescue. I believe that restaurants have to keep up with the new technologies because in this way, they will achieve better customer insight.
What will change?
Fundamentally nothing, because the restaurant will work the same way, with people being served great food just as it was before. The change will happen in the kitchen and not in the main restaurant. You didn’t think that cyborgs will become waiters and come to ask you what you’ll have for today, right? We are not that evolved yet.
Let’s take chef bases for example. The definition of a chef base is that it is practically a freezer, a cooking table and a fridge. This kitchen unit keeps all the ingredients fresh and ready to be cooked. Many restaurants owners tend to chose this option to the detriment of buying three units separately. It is more convenient and more compact, because most of the chef bases slide underneath tables and therefore they don’t need a lot of space.
However, if your restaurant has a delivery option, artificial intelligence will prove itself to be a valuable ally for you. If you create an application for example, where people can order food, you will no longer need to hire an operator who needs to answer calls from all around the city. In addition, this feature may also boost your restaurant’s popularity and if your food and delivery is of first-class, then you will have more clients. With more clients, your business will flourish.
So, in conclusion, implementing artificial intelligence may change your restaurant forever, but in a good way, because it will flourish your business by helping you in many different ways. From boosting your popularity between clients to helping your chefs in the kitchen, artificial intelligence may play a great role in your restaurant if you chose to embrace it.
