Unfortunately, there won’t be a “How to Get Away with Murder” Season 7 release date coming as a few outlets have erroneously reported. ABC has already made it crystal clear last year that the show’s sixth season would also be it’s last.
As sad as it might be to fans, even a good story has to end and Annalise’s story is about to run its course. “Deciding to end this series was a brutal decision, but ultimately the story tells you what to do – as it did here,” series creator Pete Nowalk told Deadline. “For me, Annalise Keating’s journey has always had a clear ending.”
But the good news is that “HTGAWM” Season 6 is not yet over. Nowalk already confirmed that the final season would have 15 episodes.
“Knowing I have 15 episodes left to finish her story, and the chance to give all the characters their own killer endings, is a gift rarely given to a series creator and I’m grateful to ABC and ABC Studios for the opportunity and creative freedom,” Nowalk added. “I am so thankful to the brilliant cast, writers and crew for dedicating themselves to the most rewarding experience of my career over the last six years.”
“How to Get Away with Murder” Season 6 started airing on September 26, 2019, with the first episode titled “Say Goodbye.” The last episode that was aired last year was titled “Are You the Mole?” which was the ninth episode for the season. It was released on November 21, 2019, and the show went into a hiatus since then.
This means that there are still six unaired episodes for “How to Get Away with Murder” Season 6. Thankfully, the hiatus is about to end with ABC finally announcing when the last six episodes – which it calls “farewell event” – will start airing.
“HTGAWM” Season 6 Episode 10 will be aired on April 2, according to EW. Succeeding episodes will be aired every Thursday thereafter until the final episode of the series will be shown on May 14. For those fans who were counting, there are seven Thursdays from April 2 to May 14, which could mean that the show might skip one week for some reason.
Finally, here’s what Nowalk had to say about the upcoming episodes ahead. “I can’t wait for you all to see how it ends, with twists and turns and all the craziness we love to create every Thursday night. Buckle up,” the creator added.
