A steep Wednesday slide in crude left a Hyperliquid oil trader with about $16.02 million in total losses, including the decline on a Brent long that remained open.
The $16.02 million figure combines losses from past trades with the current shortfall on the open Brent position. The reported total worsened by about $14.92 million in less than two days.
The account contributed about $9.52 million more as margin, closed its West Texas Intermediate (WTI) long and cut back its Brent trade. The WTI exit accounted for about $5.79 million in realized losses, while the Brent reduction added about $830,000, bringing realized losses to about $6.62 million.
