Hyundai Motor America reported an October U.S. sales record as Hyundai Motor Company posted a tentative global decline, showing different results across the automaker's two reporting scopes.

Hyundai Motor America sold 73,452 vehicles in the United States in October 2026, up 5% from a year earlier. Retail sales rose 9% to 62,646, also a record for the month, the company said.

Hybrids made up 29% of October sales after increasing 20% year over year, Hyundai Motor America said. From January through October, the company sold 770,916 vehicles, up 3% from the same period in 2025. Year-to-date hybrid sales rose 50%.

The company's model results varied. Tucson sales fell 23% to 17,808, while Sonata sales dropped 29% to 3,054. Hyundai Motor America recorded no Ioniq 6 sales in October, compared with 398 a year earlier. Santa Fe sales climbed 52% to 17,959, and Palisade sales increased 14% to 10,840.

Hyundai Motor Company separately reported tentative worldwide October sales of 329,773 vehicles, down 6.3% year over year. The total included 49,042 sales in South Korea, down 8.9%, and 280,731 overseas sales, down 5.9%.

“We had our best October ever, and customers responded across our lineup,” Randy Parker, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor North America, said in the release.
