SAN JOSE, Calif., March 09, 2016 -- (from the OCP US Summit 2016) -- Hyve Solutions Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of SYNNEX Corporation (NYSE:SNX) and the first Platinum Open Compute Project (OCP) solutions provider, has submitted a subset of its popular Ambient series products for OCP acceptance. These submissions are designed to incorporate many of the highly desired features of OCP and present them in a platform that is more easily adopted by the traditional datacenter customer.
Hyve Solutions Ambient series servers are specifically designed and engineered to tolerate much higher inlet temperatures, which allows for ambient air to efficiently cool the servers rather than resorting to power-hungry chilled cooling systems. The new Ambient product submissions, which will be compliant with the Decathlete specification, offer hot swap drives, and single or dual power supply solutions. These solutions are designed for standard 19” racks and more conventional datacenter environments while possessing OCP characteristics.
“Hyve Solutions has had tremendous success selling customized gear to very large scale datacenter customers. Recently, a large number of new customers have requested many OCP-like features but within a more traditional layout,” said Steve Ichinaga, President, Hyve Solutions. “Hyve Solutions developed the new subset of the Ambient series servers to address this demand. As designs and demands evolve, Hyve Solutions will evaluate submitting future Ambient Series platforms.”
“Hyve Solutions is a leader in the OCP Community and we are very pleased to see them create new 19" form factor solutions for Cloud Service Providers that are accessible through the OCP ecosystem and optimized for Intel Architecture,” said Raejeanne Skillern, Vice President and General Manager Cloud Service Providers, Cloud Platforms Group, Intel Corporation.
“A key gap has been filled with the creation of the Hyve Ambient solutions,” said Rocky Bullock, Co-Chief Executive Officer, OCP Foundation. “We're thrilled with Hyve Solutions' development as it has encouraged more members to create solutions that leverage OCP technology. We look forward to expanding our portfolio of OCP options for traditional data center customers."
These innovative products are available for large-scale datacenter customers to purchase direct from Hyve Solutions by calling 855-869-6873 or emailing [email protected]. Resellers can purchase them under the Enex server brand through SYNNEX Corporation by calling 1-800-688-0758 or emailing [email protected].
