CBS News reported Monday that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer Mario Alberto Morales surrendered after a grand jury indictment tied to an Oct. 10 collision in west Houston that injured Miguel Parra Hernandez. CBS reported Parra Hernandez was hospitalized for several weeks after the crash.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office announced the indictment Oct. 30. At a news conference, prosecutors presented surveillance and body-camera footage and played a 911 call, EconoTimes reported in its earlier coverage. A body-camera clip showed Morales saying, “I hit him with the car.”

EconoTimes previously covered the grand jury indictment in the Houston collision case.
