In its Wednesday account, the IRGC identified the aircraft as a U.S. MQ-1 and said air-defense units brought it down after detecting it over Qeshm Island.

The IRGC also said it had downed two U.S.-owned MQM-170 reconnaissance drones south of Qeshm, a separate claim covered in EconoTimes’ earlier account of the two-drone claim.
