India's gold quotes rose in Thursday readings, but FXStreet's 10-gram table price was ₹18,904.40 below All India Bullion's benchmark, a wide spread across providers using different pricing measures.

All India Bullion set its 24K gold 999 benchmark at ₹144,524 per 10 grams at 4:30 p.m. ET Wednesday, corresponding to 3 a.m. IST Thursday. That was ₹3,296 above its previous fix. The company’s retail counter quote later reached ₹148,090 per 10 grams at 10:45 p.m. ET Wednesday, including goods and services tax and the shop’s premium.

FXStreet’s automated note, published at 11:35 p.m. ET Wednesday (04:35 UTC Thursday), put its reference at ₹12,562.22 per gram, up from ₹12,349.87 on Wednesday. Its table separately listed ₹125,619.60 per 10 grams, the figure used in the comparison with All India Bullion. The per-gram figure multiplied by 10 is ₹125,622.20, a ₹2.60 difference from the table value.

Other published readings were closer to All India Bullion’s benchmark. LiveMint listed 24K gold in Coimbatore at ₹144,779 per 10 grams at 7:18 p.m. ET Wednesday (5:48 a.m. IST Thursday), up ₹1,543 from the prior day.

The readings come from different times and price measures. FXStreet says its Indian quote converts international gold prices into rupees using the dollar-rupee exchange rate and is a reference that may differ from local prices. All India Bullion says its benchmark is an India-wide guide, while dealer premiums can affect city prices. The sources do not explain the full gap between the FXStreet table and the benchmark.

EconoTimes has previously compared FXStreet’s estimate with Indian gold benchmarks. All India Bullion’s calendar listed U.S. unemployment claims for 8:30 a.m. ET Thursday, followed by average hourly earnings, nonfarm employment change and the unemployment rate at 8:30 a.m. ET Friday.
