India will offer a notified base amount of ₹33,000 crore in government bonds on Oct. 30, including ₹3,000 crore in sovereign green debt, with auction results due later that day.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) notice lists four reissues. The largest is ₹12,000 crore of 6.57% GS 2033. Two other tranches each carry ₹9,000 crore: 6.20% GS 2029 and 7.63% GS 2056. The 7.50% GOI SGrB 2056 has a notified amount of ₹3,000 crore.
The Ministry of Finance’s September calendar scheduled the same total for the Oct. 26-30 week across three-year, seven-year and 30-year securities, plus a 30-year sovereign green bond. The amounts and maturity categories match the auction, though the calendar does not name the four securities. The calendar is indicative, and the ministry said changes would be announced through press releases. It was issued to help institutional and retail investors plan and support market transparency and stability.
The auction is part of the government’s second-half borrowing plan, which calls for ₹7,86,000 crore in gross borrowing through 23 weekly auctions, according to the Ministry of Finance. The RBI notice permits the government to retain up to ₹2,000 crore in additional subscriptions for each security. That amount is an option on top of the notified base offering, not part of the ₹33,000 crore announced total.
Competitive bids through the RBI’s e-Kuber system will be accepted from 1 a.m. to 2 a.m. ET (05:00-06:00 UTC) Friday, equivalent to 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Mumbai time. Noncompetitive bids close at 1:30 a.m. ET (05:30 UTC). The Ministry calendar reserves 5% of each security’s notified amount for specified retail investors under the noncompetitive scheme.
Under the RBI’s multiple-price method, successful bidders pay their accepted quoted prices or yields. Results are due Friday, and successful bidders must pay on Nov. 2.
