The National Stock Exchange of India Ltd. (NSE) and BSE Ltd. list Nov. 10 as their next weekday equity holiday, though both have scheduled a special Diwali trading session two days earlier.

The Nov. 10 closure is for Diwali Balipratipada. Neither exchange lists another weekday equity holiday in October after the Oct. 20 Dussehra closure. Their annual calendars place Muhurat trading on Nov. 8, a weekend date, for Diwali Laxmi Pujan.

The special session leaves Nov. 10 as the next full weekday closure. The exchanges’ annual notices announced the session date and said its hours would follow. The NSE issued its detailed timetable on Oct. 19.

On the NSE, continuous trading begins at 3:50 a.m. ET (2:20 p.m. IST). It ends at 4:45 a.m. ET (3:15 p.m. IST) for securities covered by the closing auction, which follows that cutoff. For other securities, continuous trading ends at 5 a.m. ET (3:30 p.m. IST). The NSE said trades made during the session will carry settlement obligations. BSE also lists the session; the hours cited here come from the NSE’s circular.

The Oct. 20 Dussehra closure was the exchanges’ 13th weekday equity holiday of 2026. Each exchange’s original calendar listed 15 weekday holidays. Both later added a Jan. 15 closure for municipal corporation elections in Maharashtra, bringing the annual total to 16, according to their calendars and January notices.

After Nov. 10, the remaining scheduled weekday equity closures are Nov. 24 for Prakash Gurpurb Sri Guru Nanak Dev and Dec. 25 for Christmas.
