Business Standard and Moneycontrol reported that Indian stocks advanced Thursday, leaving the Nifty 50 63.25 points below 23,000 and putting the round-number level in focus as the next session approached.
The benchmark gained 237.90 points, or 1.05%, to close at 22,936.75 on Oct. 29, according to the two outlets. The BSE Sensex rose 905.01 points, or 1.24%, to 74,151.04.
Business Standard reported that 39 Nifty 50 constituents rose and 11 declined. It named Adani Ports and Adani Enterprises among the leading gainers and cited quarterly results, hopes for U.S.-Iran talks and foreign investor buying as supports for the session’s advance.
Reports differed on crude oil’s role. Business Standard said easing prices helped shares, while NDTV Profit described elevated crude as a drag on sentiment. The accounts did not provide a shared benchmark and observation time, so their descriptions do not establish a directly comparable oil-price reading.
The Federal Reserve kept its federal funds target range at 3.75% to 4% on Oct. 28. Moneycontrol cited the decision as one factor behind Thursday’s gains.
For Friday’s session, NDTV Profit said traders would watch crude prices and global cues. The outlet quoted Enrich Money CEO Ponmudi R as saying a sustained move above 23,000 could “reinforce the recovery,” with 23,200 in view. Its setup listed 22,800 and 22,500 as support levels; these are analyst views.
Axis Securities has also identified oil prices and foreign investor demand as tests for a recovery, in its assessment of India’s market rebound. The next session is Friday, Oct. 30, when traders will be watching those cues and the Nifty’s approach to 23,000.
