India’s Sensex and Nifty 50 reversed morning losses Monday, climbing in afternoon trading alongside pharmaceutical stocks after four consecutive sessions of declines.

The Sensex stood at 73,381.01 at 4:47 a.m. EDT (08:47 UTC), up 257.18 points, or 0.35%, from its previous close. The Nifty 50 was at 22,703.60 at 4:44 a.m. EDT (08:44 UTC), a gain of 103.60 points, or 0.46%. The figures were intraday readings shown by Moneycontrol, not closing results.

The Nifty had dipped below its previous close of 22,600 earlier Monday, The Economic Times reported. The outlet’s market updates put the Nifty Pharma index up 1.5% at 3:36 a.m. EDT (07:36 UTC). The sector’s gain coincided with the broader recovery; the available figures do not establish what drove either move.

The Economic Times also identified elevated crude prices and the approaching U.S. Federal Reserve decision as concerns for investors. Among company developments, Infosys said in its Oct. 23 results release that it had lowered its fiscal 2027 constant-currency revenue growth forecast to 1%–2%, from the 1.5%–3% range it issued in July.

The Fed is scheduled to meet Oct. 27–28, with its policy decision due Oct. 28.
