Info Edge (India) Limited plans to elevate founder and Executive Vice Chairman Sanjeev Bikhchandani to group CEO in December, a leadership shift that leaves Hitesh Oberoi on a proposed board track.

Subject to shareholder approval, Bikhchandani is slated to take the executive vice chairman, managing director and group CEO roles beginning Dec. 3, 2026, under a plan approved by the board. The proposed term runs through April 26, 2031. The board made the decision Oct. 28, according to the company filing.

Oberoi, the company’s Managing Director and CEO, is scheduled to leave both posts at the close of business Dec. 2. Info Edge has proposed that he join its board as an additional director in a non-executive, non-independent capacity, also subject to shareholder approval.

Oberoi has been with Info Edge for nearly 27 years and held its managing director and CEO roles for more than 16 years, the company said. Info Edge said he wants to devote more time to education, entrepreneurship and family, among other interests.

Info Edge operates recruitment service Naukri, property platform 99acres, and matchmaking and education businesses including Jeevansathi and Shiksha. For the quarter ended Sept. 30, the company reported standalone operating revenue of ₹8.417 billion (₹841.7 crore), up 12.8% from a year earlier.

On Info Edge’s Q2 FY27 analyst call, Bikhchandani said staffing plans were undecided, according to a transcript published by Investing.com. He said he would take over as the leadership change begins. The transcript quoted Oberoi saying he was leaving his full-time operating role without “stepping away.”
