AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 30, 2016 -- Go Hunt Life announces the launch of its 15th episode. The popular podcast, hosted by Todd Nevins, interviews people who hit a breaking point in their safe careers to embark on an unknown journey of professional and personal reinvention. For the show’s 15th episode, The Fearless Baker Of New York, Nevins interviews Helene Godin, who walked from her 22-year career as an Intellectual Property Attorney to open a gluten and dairy-free bakery chain in New York City.
“Fear,” explains Godin in the podcast, “is the thing that gets in your way the most.”
“The average person spends 90,000 hours over their lifetime at work, and 25% of employees say work is their main source of stress,” explains Nevins. “Our podcast features people who have reached a breaking point where something has clicked for them to pull the ripcord on the ‘safe job’ and go from being an employee to entrepreneur. This is a podcast for life hunters, told by life hunters.”
‘Go Hunt Life’ explores the personal journeys of what leads to making the seemingly impossible decision to risk financial safety and personal identity in order to follow a passion. Some guests have quit to start a business to serve their local community, while others chose to move abroad and tap into international markets. What was their motivation? What were their doubts? What was their big ‘a-ha’ moment? Episode #000 details Nevins’ own journey from living and working in a Dallas suburb to selling everything that he and his wife owned and moving to Mexico to open their own businesses.
The ‘Go Hunt Life’ episodes include:
- Software Sales to Jerky Company Founder – Jason Burke walked away from his safe salary when his newly created company had less than $2,000 in monthly revenue, and hit the streets of Charleston, SC with a backpack full of beef jerky. Four years later, his New Primal Jerky product is carried in over 5,000 retail stores in all 50 states.
- Public Defender to Jester King Brewery Founder – Jeff Stuffings quit his lucrative job while staring at a stack of student loans to follow his dream to start a brewery. He hit the fund-raising trail, honed his brewing technique and created a craft beer destination.
- Corporate Rat Race to Boutique Hotelier – Neil Haapamaki and his wife left the corporate grind of Toronto to open a premier boutique hotel in the Yucatan tropics.
‘Go Hunt Life’ can be found on iTunes, Google Play and Stitcher. Inquiries regarding advertising can be directed here. If you have a story that you think would inspire the audience to ‘ripcord out’ and follow a different path of inspiration and fulfillment, we want to know about it here.
