Higher fuel prices linked to the Iran war are showing up in the cost of other goods as the conflict becomes a major issue in the U.S. midterm campaign, Al Jazeera reported Sunday.

Al Jazeera said polls suggest many Democrats and Republicans consider the conflict not worth its consequences. The program also considered the possibility of Democrats gaining ground in either the House or Senate and how a shift in either chamber could affect the remainder of President Donald Trump’s term.

The episode was hosted by Mohammed Jamjoom and featured Hassan Ahmadian, an associate professor at the University of Tehran; Patrick Mara, chairman of the Washington, D.C., Republican Party; and Democratic Party strategist James Butler. Americans are scheduled to vote Tuesday, Nov. 3.
