Iran and Qatar discussed expanding political, economic and energy cooperation, Anadolu Agency reported, while Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian was due at a separate gas exporters' summit in Moscow.

Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali said Pezeshkian would attend the eighth summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) on Tuesday, Oct. 27, according to earlier coverage of Jalali's announcement.

That coverage lists Iran, Qatar, Russia and Algeria among the forum's members. It says the summit agenda includes gas-market conditions, coordination among exporting countries and natural gas's place in the global economy.
