A U.S. envoy raised the prospect of a weekend strike, and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) spokesman Hossein Mohebbi warned that Iran would respond several times more forcefully to even a limited military action.

Fars News Agency quoted Mohebbi as saying Iran’s armed forces were ready and had operational plans. He characterized hostile remarks as aimed mainly at media audiences and said those making threats could not mount an effective operation or meet their objectives under current conditions. He also said renewed military action would end in defeat.

Tom Barrack, the U.S. ambassador to Türkiye and special presidential envoy for Syria and Iraq, said in a Friday interview with Mario Nawfal that the United States could strike Iran over the weekend. President Donald Trump, responding to reporters, said, “I don’t know anything about it.”

EconoTimes previously covered Mohebbi’s warning that an attack would prompt an offensive response.
