Iranian forces reported fires aboard four tankers near the Strait of Hormuz, with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) blaming mines for three and contesting a U.S. account of mine clearance on the vital shipping corridor.

The IRGC said ships using the southern passage off Oman lacked authorization. It also rejected Central Command’s description of mine removal along the principal shipping lanes.

Iran’s army reported another tanker burning east of Hormuz but did not identify a cause. Previous IRGC Navy claims concerning ships in the area include an earlier allegation involving two tankers.

Yemen’s Houthis said they had carried out six operations targeting Saudi airports and oil installations. Saudi authorities offered no confirmation of those attacks, but said air defenses had brought down a Houthi drone headed toward the Mecca region.
