A Moscow meeting next week between Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Russian President Vladimir Putin will bring bilateral consultations to the leaders' level, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Friday.
Araghchi wrote on Instagram that his discussions with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Tehran earlier this week would continue when the presidents meet in Moscow.
Araghchi said the ministers discussed ways to expand political and economic cooperation, carry out agreements already in place and address regional and international issues. He also cited work on the countries' comprehensive strategic partnership.
The Oct. 19 Tehran meeting between Lavrov and Araghchi included a review of earlier contacts between the presidents, Russia's Foreign Ministry said.
Russia's Foreign Ministry said the treaty took effect Oct. 2, 2025.
Araghchi said the presidents would continue the consultations in Moscow next week.
