At least four people were killed in separate Israeli strike and gunfire incidents across Gaza on Thursday, Reuters reported, citing health officials, as negotiators remained divided over the year-old ceasefire's terms.

Medics in Gaza City said a car was hit, then lowered their initial toll of two deaths to at least one. They also reported that a cyclist was killed in Khan Younis, a man near Nuseirat refugee camp and a woman by gunfire near Jabalia refugee camp.

Israel's military said it targeted Hamas militants in Gaza City, Khan Younis and Nuseirat. It said it was unaware of the reported shooting near Jabalia. Israeli strikes on Hamas have increased in recent weeks, Reuters reported. The deaths follow an earlier fatal strike in Gaza City during the ceasefire, reported by EconoTimes.

The ceasefire agreement includes plans for Gaza's eventual reconstruction. Negotiators have yet to settle whether Hamas will disarm or Israeli troops will withdraw. Israel says Hamas is rebuilding its arsenal and has launched attacks in violation of the truce. Hamas rejects those claims and says Israel is weakening the deal.

Gaza health officials say at least 1,500 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire began, while Israel says four soldiers have died. Palestinian authorities say Israel's assault on Gaza has killed more than 74,000 people. The campaign followed an attack in southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, in which Hamas-led fighters killed about 1,200 people.
