Jordan’s King Abdullah II said regional security and stability depend on Palestinians’ right to a homeland, speaking Monday as he opened the third ordinary session of the 20th Parliament.

The speech said Gaza’s humanitarian catastrophe and attacks in the West Bank and Jerusalem persisted despite international appeals to end Israeli violations.

Abdullah called Israel’s expansionist ambitions “the greatest threat to the region’s future and hopes.”
