Brazil's top position in a crypto adoption index does not identify where Bitcoin (BTC) holders live; a separate June 2026 estimate put the global Bitcoin-owning population at 373 million, without country figures.

The June estimate's 2.5% gain over the December 2025 reading came as Bitcoin owners represented 48.3% of estimated crypto owners worldwide. Survey responses and internal records were assessed alongside blended parameters and on-chain data.

For July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, Brazil led a separate grassroots crypto adoption ranking, followed by the United States, while India came sixth. The index weighs domestic peer-to-peer transfers, service flows, cross-border flows and on-chain balances, indicators of overall crypto use rather than Bitcoin ownership by country.

On-chain records may persist after a sale, leaving former holders in the estimate; over-the-counter activity and people without a recorded on-chain footprint may be missed. Sampling bias is an additional limitation.
