South Korea’s KOSPI fell 7.5% Thursday, taking its weekly loss to 15.5%, while Bitcoin (BTC) touched $80,154, highlighting pressure across equities and digital assets.

No day since April 8 had ended with the KOSPI below Thursday’s finish of 5,554. Bitcoin’s intraday low matched a level last reached Sept. 20.

Samsung Electronics shares lost 9.5%, and SK Hynix shares fell 11%. The two chipmakers were among the session’s steepest decliners, with losses exceeding the benchmark’s daily drop.

Bitcoin’s latest move follows EconoTimes’ earlier coverage of reports placing the asset below $82,000.

Samsung Electronics is scheduled to report third-quarter earnings Oct. 29. SK Hynix is due to report one day earlier, on Oct. 28.
