The finale of “Kaguya-sama: Love Is War” season 2 has aired, and the wait for season 3 officially begins. An announcement has yet to happen, but fans quickly spotted a clue seemingly touting the show’s return.
Fans decipher clues for ‘Kaguya-sama: Love Is War’ season 3’s release
Season 2 ended over the weekend with another heartwarming episode showing how much closer the student council has become. In celebrating the conclusion of season 2, the show’s official Twitter page thanked its fans and shared a photo of the student council resembling the one taken on Shinomiya’s new smartphone.
The smartphone in the image was drawn as if it fell hard on the ground like Shinomiya’s ancient flip phone did in the finale. On the left side of the image is the text that says, “The 68th Student Council.” Eagle-eyed fans, however, saw a very interesting suggestion about the show’s future regarding “Kaguya-sama: Love Is War” season 3.
Fans find secret message hinting at ‘Kaguya-sama: Love Is War’ season 3
On the right side of the promo image, fans can see a carving on the stone ground that says, “Continue?” followed by Yes and No, like in a video game menu. Below that appears to be the number “3” written larger and in a slightly different color, so it is more prominent. While these are obviously added as a secret message, it was not hidden enough that it took a short time before fans figured out. One of the likely reasons for producers to pull this easily solved Easter Egg is that “Kaguya-sama: Love Is War” season 3 is more likely to be confirmed.
‘Kaguya-sama: Love Is War’ season 3 possible release date
It should be noted that what is discussed above is an interesting find, it still does not confirm the status of “Kaguya-sama: Love Is War” season 3. However, all signs point to its eventual renewal. For one, there are more than enough manga materials to make the next season even with more than 12 episodes. Monsters & Critics also suggested that Funimation’s effort to acquire exclusive rights to stream the second season shows growing support for the series in the anime community. If the show will continue and will follow the same production cycle, it is likely for the next installment to premiere in the first half of 2021.
