Kia Showcases Bold EV Adventure Concepts at SEMA 2024, Highlighting All-Electric SUV and Van
Kia America is returning to the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) to present EV designs for outdoor activities.
According to Teslarati, this year's SEMA 2024 Show will take place in Las Vegas, and exhibitors are eager to present their finest products and concepts. Designers from Kia Design Center America (KDCA) showcased the carmaker's ideas for an all-electric, rugged adventure SUV and van.
“Kia’s rugged and capable utility vehicles have long been known for being versatile, adaptable, and comfortable to suit the needs of a wide range of consumers. We wanted to ‘level up’ the functionality and capability by developing these concepts that take those legendary attributes to the next level.
“Our vehicles already help people live their active and adventurous lifestyles, and it was fun to see just how far we could go with these latest concepts. The SEMA Show acts as a blank canvas for creativity and offers a glimpse into what Kia’s automotive future may hold,” said Steven Center, COO & EVP of Kia America.
Kia’s EV9 ADVNTR and PV5 WKNDR EVs Bring Off-Road Power and Modular Design to SEMA
A three-row SUV intended to travel beyond paved roads is the EV9 ADVNTR EV idea. It has strengthened rocker panels and unique front and back facias for a more robust appearance. Additionally, compared to the ordinary EV9, Kia raised the lift of the ADVNTR model by 3". The EV's off-road capabilities was maximized by the 3" life and the sturdy wheels and tires of the Kia EV9 ADVNTR.
Kia's version of an all-electric van designed for outdoor exploration is the PV5 WKNDR EV concept. Purpose Beyond Vehicles, the automaker's EV PBVs, was the foundation for the PV5 WKNDR concept.
“It is a highly capable van allowing expression of your lifestyle wherever it may take you. Lifted and equipped with off-road tires, it is an ideal escape pod for extended weekends in nature. The PV5 WKNDR EV VAN features a highly flexible and adaptable modular interior that can be easily and efficiently customized to maximize space and function – akin to a Swiss Army Knife on wheels,” noted Kia America.
