“Kingdom Hearts 3” is sitting on the number two spot on the Famitsu charts right now as “Final Fantasy VII: Remake” has once again claimed the summit this week. The two titles have been jostling each other out the rankings recently with “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate” joining in the shoving as well, Gamingbolt reported.
It’s expected that in the coming weeks, “Kingdom Hearts 3” will likely take the number one spot again as its release date is but a few weeks away. Tetsuya Nomura also announced via Twitter that the third and final installment of the title has now been officially finished.
So far, the trailers that have been released by Square Enix holds a lot of promise for “Kingdom Hearts 3” as the graphics and gameplay look topnotch. While both of these will undeniably be a factor in the title’s sales performance, it’s the nostalgia that is generating a lot of noise for the upcoming game.
Apart from Sora, Goofy, and Donald, there are also other recurring characters that fans are excited to interact with once more. Among them is Lingering Will, the lost mind of Terra who resides in his discarded armor after Master Xenahort stole his original body. Terra-Xehanort – or Terra-Nort as the fans have come to call the character – is expected to clash against Lingering Will and their battle will decide the fate of Terra. Will he be able to reclaim both his mind and body after defeating Terra-Nort in “Kingdom Hearts 3”?
Fans are hoping that he would in order to provide a closure to the protagonist’s storyline. After all, Terra is one of the most beloved characters of the franchise and it would be satisfying to see him exact vengeance on Xenahort. Fortunately, fans will only have to wait a few weeks more in order to find out what will happen in “Kingdom Hearts 3” as the game is scheduled for release on Jan. 29, 2019.
