Konotop’s power outages continued into a fourth day by Oct. 27 after an Oct. 24 attack damaged energy infrastructure, with residents facing scheduled water service and some consumers still without electricity.

Mayor Artem Semenikhin said the attack damaged energy infrastructure. Sumyoblenergo, the regional electricity distributor, reported on Oct. 27 that some consumers remained without power.

In a Telegram post, Semenikhin said there was “no forecast at all” for electricity restoration. In an interview with public broadcaster Suspilne, he described water service running for six hours a day in two scheduled periods.

The mayor said educational institutions had been damaged and the city hospital was operating on generators.

Sumyoblenergo said crews were working to restore service to consumers who remained without electricity. The utility said security conditions and whether crews could reach damaged locations would shape repair timing.
