Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas reopened two runways after a private jet struck a perimeter fence during departure Sunday, as a ground stop affecting flights bound for the city was lifted.

The airport said a general aviation aircraft skidded off Runway 1L at about 11 a.m. PDT (2 p.m. ET; 18:00 UTC) on Oct. 18 and hit the fence. The Independent identified the aircraft as a Dassault Falcon 50. It reported no known injuries. Officials have not disclosed the cause.

The airport closed Runways 1L and 1R for inspections and warned travelers they could face delays. It later said both runways had reopened and the ground stop was lifted.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) temporarily held flights scheduled to depart for Las Vegas during the disruption. About 360 flights experienced delays exceeding an hour, The Independent reported.

Harry Reid International Airport handled 34,353,312 arriving and departing passengers through August 2026, according to the Clark County Department of Aviation.
