At a congress in Orléans, Marine Le Pen said she would choose National Rally President Jordan Bardella as prime minister if she wins France’s 2027 presidential election.
On policy, Le Pen named security, prosperity, justice and creativity as priorities. She said a government under her would include a range of views and focus on national unity, casting her bid as a response to political inertia and a need for a major shift in power.
She blamed impunity and organized crime for undermining security and state authority across France, and separately accused mafias of setting the rules in some neighborhoods. “We will restore the rule of law,” she told the congress.
EconoTimes had previously reported that the Orléans gathering was expected to host Le Pen’s first 2027 campaign speech.
Anadolu Ajansı also reported that protests over living costs took place in French cities Saturday. The agency said demonstrations a week earlier were followed by unrest after students protested conditions in the country’s schools.
The rally was briefly interrupted, Anadolu Ajansı reported. Bardella sought to settle the crowd by calling for France’s national anthem as security personnel intervened.
