Former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt called for New Hampshire law enforcement to respond after a video showed an 18-year-old being slapped near a polling place on Election Day, The Independent reported.

In a Tuesday post on X, Leavitt wrote, “I trust New Hampshire law enforcement will take care of this ASAP.” She called the older man a “left-wing nut job” and accused him of assaulting the teenager.

Turning Point Action, a conservative organization, posted the video and said the teenager had been assaulted at the polls, according to The Independent. The recording shows the men talking near a tent beside a parking area; the older man then raises a middle finger and slaps the younger man. Laconia police said they were investigating an alleged assault at the Woodland Heights polling location, WMUR reported.

The elections will decide which party leads Congress during the next two-year term. The Independent said polls suggested Republicans could lose ground, with voter dissatisfaction over the war in Iran and living costs cited as factors.

Before Election Day, Leavitt urged followers to vote in an Instagram Stories post, writing, “This is what’s at stake. Vote,” in her pre-election appeal.
