Questioning of six defendants in Lebanon’s explosives case was pushed to Nov. 17 after a judge ordered two Hezbollah members detained, the National News Agency (NNA) reported.

The NNA identified the two men as Ali al-Kurdi and Haitham Amhaz, both already in custody. First Military Investigative Judge Ghada Abu Alwan questioned them with an attorney present, then issued warrants formally placing them under judicial detention, the agency said.

Lebanon’s Internal Security Forces (ISF) stopped a truck carrying explosives on Oct. 5 as it traveled from the eastern Bekaa region toward Beirut, NNA reported.

Hezbollah lawmaker Hassan Fadlallah described the shipment as belonging to the group and said its purpose was to confront Israeli forces in southern Lebanon, Anadolu Agency reported.

Lebanon’s military prosecutor charged 13 people on Oct. 30 in connection with the shipment, as EconoTimes previously reported.

The lawyer for six other defendants, who remain at liberty, filed procedural objections, NNA reported. Military prosecutors will review the filing and present their position before questioning resumes on Nov. 17.
