Lee Min Ho returned from the army in April and the first thing that was confirmed as he gets back to his work as an actor was a drama. It made news as it will also mark his reunion with “The Heirs” writer Kim Eun Sook.
At that time, except for the title which is “The King: The Eternal Monarch,” no other specific details were released, but fans are already excited about it. For months after his discharge, the actor then worked on endorsements and had interviews with magazines but still, there is no update about the movie.

This is why when he went live on Instagram to update his fans about the developments in his comeback TV drama, they were really rejoicing. According to Soompi, Lee Min Ho revealed via live streaming that they already received their scripts for “The King: The Eternal Monarch” so they will be filming really soon.
During the broadcast, he also told his fans that he will work hard to give the best drama show that everyone could enjoy. This is his comeback as well so he is determined to do better.
Production for the drama officially starts rolling
Last week, the cast and staff have gathered for the drama’s first script reading. This conference marks the start of the production and it will not be long before the actual filming commence.
The activity was held on Sept. 17 and all the characters attended the event. The drama will also star Kim Go Eun, Woo Do Hwan, Lee Jung Jin, Kim Kyung Nam, and Jung Eun Chae and all of them enthusiastically participated in the reading.
As per TV Report, Lee Min Ho and his co-stars started the script reading at 2 p.m. in Gangnam, Seoul. By now, they could be filming already which is really good news so that the drama could be released really soon.
“The King: The Eternal Monarch” will tell the story of parallel worlds where the king from the previous empire named Emperor Lee Gon, played by Lee Min Ho, discovered that there is a door that leads to another world which is the present time. Realizing the dangers that will arise if his people find out the mysterious passage, he communicated with the modern-day detectives and asked them to help him seal the door.
Kim Go Eun will play Jung Tae Eul, the detective who will help the king. The drama is set to premiere in early 2020.
