Anadolu Agency reported Thursday that Libya’s National Oil Corporation warned a valve closure on the Hamada-Zawiya pipeline could lower crude production and oil revenue if it persists.

Anadolu reported that NOC located the closure at a crude reception station beside the Zawiya refinery. Arabian Gulf Oil Company operates the station. Crude from Hamada and al-Tahara fields moves through the line, the agency reported. NOC did not identify who shut the valve, according to Anadolu. It asked authorities to restore the line and shield oil installations from disruption.

A Sept. 15 statement from NOC described an earlier shutdown in the region. The corporation said Petroleum Facilities Guard members had reportedly closed a valve without authorization, halting operations at Hamada (NC8), Al-Tahara (NC4) and Station NC5. NOC said the disruption affected field operators and could put state obligations, including salary payments, at risk.
