Lithuania’s Criminal Police Bureau said Thursday that prosecutors have designated two people held in Germany as suspects in an Oct. 18 attempt to burn Starlink infrastructure in Vilnius.

Prosecutors formalized the suspects’ status on Oct. 27. Police outlined four allegations: travel to Lithuania for terrorist purposes; an act of terrorism with potential for serious consequences; establishing and operating an organized terrorist group; and complicity in a terrorist group.

Police said both people hold German citizenship. One also has Turkish citizenship and the other Serbian citizenship. They are being held in Germany under European arrest warrants issued by Bulgaria over a similar offense, police said.

BNS reported that the targeted site belonged to Delska, a Lithuanian company. National Crisis Management Center head Vilmantas Vitkauskas told BNS that SpaceX rented and operated the premises.

Vitkauskas said Starlink supports communications for residents, businesses and the military. He assessed that incidents in Lithuania, Bulgaria and Poland could be part of an effort to disrupt the service and affect Ukrainian operations, BNS reported.
