‘Lucifer’ Season 2, Episode 13 Spoilers: “A Good Day to Die” – Lucifer Returns to Hell in Attempts to Save Chloe’s Life, Confronts Amenadiel About God’s Plans

‘Lucifer’ season 2’s episode 13, titled “A Good Day to Die,” is set to feature Lucifer as he returns to hell in an attempt to save Chloe’s life after she has been poisoned. Lucifer will need to find the soul of the professor who created the poison to procure an antidote. Meanwhile, he will also get into a confrontation with his brother Amenadiel about god’s plans.

The synopsis for “A Good Day to Die” posted on TV.com reads, “Lucifer (Tom Ellis) seeks an antidote to the Professor's poison, which sends him on a mission to hell to locate the Professor's (Tim DeKay) soul. While there, he confronts his guilt about Uriel's (Michael Imperioli) death. Meanwhile, Mom (Tricia Helfer) travels to hell to return Lucifer, who feels betrayed by his parents after a revealing discovery.”

In the new episode, Lucifer must race against time to find an antidote for the Professor’s poison before it kills Detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German). Chloe is currently confined at a hospital after ingesting some poison. In his desperation to keep Chloe alive, Lucifer will travel back to hell to find the soul of the professor, who created the poison.

The promo revealed an impending confrontation between Lucifer and his older brother Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside). In one scene, he slams the dark-winged angel against the wall and asks, “Was this part of father’s plan?” Amenadiel reveals, “I was just another pawn in his game.”

It was revealed that Amenadiel was tasked by god to bless Chloe’s parents with a child. It seems that the angel had no choice in the matter when he admitted that he was only used as part of a grander scheme.

In the previous episode, Lucifer had to deal with the fact that almost everyone around him kept Chloe’s back story secret. According to the recap on Fansided, Lucifer confronted Chloe about his own father’s involvement in her birth to which she began to bleed profusely from the nose before she could answer.

Meanwhile, Lucifer will also have to confront his guilt over the death of his brother Uriel while in hell in the upcoming episode. Uriel was Lucifer and Amenadiel’s younger brother, who was sent to earth to kill off Charlotte by means of Azrael’s blade. However, Lucifer ended up killing him instead.

‘Lucifer’ season 2’s episode 13, titled “A Good Day to Die,” is scheduled to air on January 30, 2017. It was directed by Alrick Riley and written by Joe Henderson and Chris Rafferty. The incoming episode is expected to be the season’s winter finale before episode 14, titled "Candy Morningstar," returns on Fox on May 1.
