“Lucifer” season 4 is certainly arriving on Netflix this year. The specific release date is still anybody’s guess but many are speculating it is slated in the springtime.
A recent Instagram post from actor Graham McTavish confirmed that the series is still in the post-production phase. This means the announcement of “Lucifer” season 4’s release will unlikely happen anytime soon.
McTavish posted a photo of some scripts specifically for audio recording as the actor said he went to an “ADR day” for “Lucifer” season 4. ADR in filmmaking means automated dialog replacement and typically takes place at the post-production phase. It is the process of re-recording some lines if the original audio was not good enough for the final cut or if there are some necessary changes in the actor’s dialog.
The “Outlander” alum has a major role in “Lucifer” season 4 named Father Kinley. Ellis told TVLine, “The priest very much has got an axe to grind. He’s kind of obsessed with this prophecy having to do with the Devil walking the earth and finding his first love, and when that happens evil will be released upon the world. He truly, truly believes that.” The brief description of Father Kinley seemingly indicates that he will be an antagonist for some time in “Lucifer” season 4.
I have no idea ????????♀️ ... but if I had to guess I’d say April or May ???????? https://t.co/fw0DoWHujA

As of January, it appears that Netflix has yet to schedule an official release date for “Lucifer” season 4. Aimee Garcia, who plays Ella Lopez in the show, told a fan a month ago that she has “no idea” when the Netflix premiere is happening. But she added that she is also guessing it will be between April and May.
The year 2018 was a roller coaster ride for the cast and crew of “Lucifer” season 4. The fourth installment almost did not happen when FOX canceled the show after three seasons last May. But, thanks to the massive social media campaign #SaveLucifer, Netflix picked up the Tom Ellis-led series over a month later. The production and filming of the fourth season began shortly after the show’s revival and then reportedly wrapped up in December 2018.
