Magna Opens New Body & Chassis Plant in Mexico

• Facility to produce structural welded assemblies for global automakers
• Currently employs 400, expected growth to approximately 1,000
• Gives Magna 32 facilities and more than 28,000 employees in Mexico

AURORA, Ontario, April 19, 2018 -- Magna executives were joined by Governor Juan Manuel Carreras Lopez, members of local government, customers and employees to celebrate the grand opening of a new body & chassis manufacturing facility in San Luis Potosí, Mexico.

The 189,000-square-foot facility will produce structural welded assemblies for global automakers including BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

The 189,000-square-foot facility will produce structural welded assemblies for global automakers including BMW and Mercedes-Benz. It currently employs 400 people and is expected to grow to approximately 1,000 employees at full production.
