SAN JOSE, Calif., June 01, 2017 -- MapR Technologies, Inc., provider of the Converged Data Platform that enables organizations to create intelligent applications that fully integrate analytics with operational processes in real time, today announced new features for its Native Spark Connector for MapR-DB. MapR will showcase the MapR Converged Data Platform along with its updated Spark Connector at the Spark Summit conference taking place next week at the Moscone West Convention Center in San Francisco from June 5-7.
The Native Spark Connector now includes support for data frames and dataset APIs for tight integration between Apache Spark and MapR-DB. HBase and MapR-DB binary tables can be queried directly with Spark, removing typical intermediary layers with other solutions. This enables application developers and data engineers to build faster data pipelines and reduce latency associated with data movement. The Spark Connector benefits use cases such as data warehouse offload that leverage Spark with MapR-DB. With the Spark/MapR-DB connectors, MapR-DB can be used as a data source and as a data destination for Spark jobs.
MapR will also present on stage at Spark Summit on Wednesday, June 7 at 3:35pm in Room 2014. Sameer Nori, director, partner solutions, MapR, will share a presentation titled, “Operationalizing Machine Learning at Scale.” The presentation will focus on how leading practitioners have been able to scale their machine learning deployments in production and cover use cases including autonomous cars and analytics as a service for retail and financial services.
