Gamers, who have been counting the days until the arrival of the supposed May 2020 “Marvel’s Avengers” release date, will have to keep counting for a few more months. But the delay is all for good cause as it would mean that the Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix action-adventure title would be more polished than ever when it comes out.
New “Marvel’s Avengers” release date
The game was originally slated for a May 2020 release as previously announced by Square Enix. However, it was later announced that the game would now be coming out on September 4, 2020, for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia, according to PC Gamer.
Ultimate Gaming Experience
Apparently, developer Crystal Dynamics does not want to deliver a half-baked title. “At Crystal Dynamics, our ambition has always been to deliver the ultimate Avengers gaming experience,” Studio Co-Heads Scot Amos & Ron Rosenberg wrote in a post. “In order to achieve that goal, we have made the difficult decision to move the release date of Marvel’s Avengers to September 4, 2020.”
But to deliver the ultimate gaming experience players deserve, the developer needs a little more time to fine-tune things. “To that end, we will spend this additional development time focusing on fine-tuning and polishing the game to the high standards our fans expect and deserve,” the developers added.
“Marvel’s Avengers” Plot
The game’s plot might be a bit strange to fans of Marvel films. Instead of following the heroic characters popularized in the series of Marvel movies, the game will instead focus on Kamala Khan, known as the second Ms. Marvel, according to GameSpot.
“Marvel’s Avengers” will adopt a variation of the Inhumanity storyline. Kamala is an Inhuman and developed shapeshifting ability. After discovering a plot by H.I.V.E. she will attempt to reunite the Avengers.
Playable Characters
As the main character, players can opt to go through the game as Kamala. However, there’s a roster of “Marvel’s Avengers” playable characters to choose from as well.
The characters that can be played Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Hulk, Thor, and Ant-Man. Two characters, Taskmaster and The Abomination, will be coming to the game but it’s not yet clear if they will be playable.
