McDonald's has unveiled an exciting addition to its Happy Meal offerings in the UK, introducing an anime theme. Available today, this innovative theme showcases a collaboration between Yu-Gi-Oh! and Hello Kitty and Friends, bringing a fresh twist to the beloved children's meal option.
Anime Takes Over Happy Meals
Yahoo reported that starting Wednesday, May 8, McDonald's restaurants across the UK will offer a special anime-themed Happy Meal. This unique offering comes as part of a series of celebrations, marking significant anniversaries for Hello Kitty and McDonald's UK, each observing their 50th anniversaries, and Yu-Gi-Oh!, which is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its card game.
According to Wales Online, customers will find that each Happy Meal features one of ten distinctive Yu-Gi-Oh! X Hello Kitty and Friends plush toys. This exclusive range will be available until Tuesday, June 18, providing a limited window for fans and collectors to get their hands on these unique items.
More Than Just a Meal
In a statement, a McDonald's spokesperson highlighted the significance of this launch, stating that in a year of celebrations with not one but three anniversaries, what better way to mark the occasion than with an exciting anime takeover?
They added that these two anime worlds never collided, so whether it's a first experience with either franchise or for an avid fan, this is an exclusive opportunity to enjoy this anime special with Happy Meal.
For those seeking alternatives to toys, McDonald's is also offering an educational twist. Happy Meal purchasers have the option to select between one of two inspiring books from the Little People, Big Dreams series: "I Can Be an Awesome Performer" or "I Can Be a Curious Scientist," ensuring that there's something for every young customer to enjoy.
A Revolving Menu of Favorites
This latest offering builds on McDonald's tradition of revolving menu items that cater to diverse tastes and interests. Recently, the fast-food giant brought back the Chicken Big Mac, Cheese & Herb Melts, and introduced the new Lotus Biscoff Frappe, continuing to surprise and delight its customers with novel and nostalgic options.
