McDonald's Unveils Limited-Edition Special Grade Garlic Sauce Inspired by Jujutsu Kaisen, Available July 9 Exclusively on the App
As Food & Wine reported, on July 9, McDonald's will introduce Special Grade Garlic Sauce, reportedly inspired by the supernatural anime "Jujutsu Kaisen."
McDonald's most recent Japanese-inspired condiment is nearly ready to transport you to a realm of jujutsu sorcerers and evil spirits.
On July 9, the fast-food chain will introduce its Special Grade Garlic Sauce, intended as a tribute to the supernatural anime Jujutsu Kaisen. The company stated in a news release that it will be exclusively accessible through the McDonald's App for a restricted period.
The new condiment is a unique blend of soy sauce and garlic, with a faint tangy sweetness inspired by McDonald's Japan's Black Garlic Sauce.
In anticipation of its release, the organization will organize a press-tasting event in New York City on July 8. Alvin Zhou, an anime food program host, will host the event.

McDonald's has consistently demonstrated a willingness to experiment with novel sauces for its menu.
The company introduced two limited-edition condiments in October last year: the Sweet & Spicy Jam and the Mambo Sauce.
According to Yahoo Finance, the "Sweet & Spicy Jam" was a red pepper dipping condiment blending Szechuan peppercorn, apple cider vinegar, and cayenne pepper. In the interim, the MamboSauce was a "sweet, spicy, and vinegary sauce that was tomato-based," drawing inspiration from Washington, D.C.
What is 'Jujutsu Kaisen'?
"Jujutsu Kaisen" is an action anime adapted from the renowned Japanese manga series by Gege Akutami and Ballad Kitaguni.
The two-season series debuted in 2020 and tells the story of a high school student forced to navigate a realm of sorcery and curses after becoming the unwilling host of an evil spirit. Netflix offers the initial 24 episodes for viewing. Crunchyroll offers the "JUJUTSU KAISEN 0" movie and seasons 1 and 2 of the series.
