For the past decade, the MOPH Scholarship Program has awarded scholarships for undergraduate and trade school education to Purple Heart recipients, their spouses and their direct lineal descendants, including step-children and adopted children. To date, MOPH Scholarships have provided over $2.5 million in critical support toward the educational endeavors of eligible applicants.
Through a special advertising program with CBS Radio Washington, D.C. and CBS EcoMedia, new funding from the Purple Heart Foundation will sustain fifteen to eighteen MOPH scholarships to be distributed over the next five years.
“We strongly believe in supporting the education and continued growth of Purple Heart recipients and their families,” said Hershel Gober, National Commander of the Military Order of the Purple Heart “Working with CBS Radio D.C. and CBS EcoMedia makes it possible for us to continue honoring their sacrifice by providing scholarships, and ultimately, opportunity to inspirational individuals.”
