NEW YORK, Jan. 18, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Newtek Business Services Corp., (NASDAQ:NEWT), The Small Business Authority®, announced today the release of the SB Authority Index of small business indicators for November 2015 which reached 131.05 points. Approved SBA lending volumes, new entity formation and the Russell Microcap Index led the increase. The SB Authority Index is up 0.14% from October 2015. On a year-over-year comparison, the SB Authority Index is up 1.20%.
Barry Sloane, Chairman, President and CEO of The Small Business Authority® commented, “As we are experiencing stock market turbulence and the beginning of an interest rate cycle change, our measure of the strength of the small business economy continues to sputter. Our Market Sentiment Survey had businesses entering the year with optimism, but our SB Authority Index is showing a flat trend and not depicting that optimism.”
