Mobile crushers and screeners are principally small-scale stationary crushing and screening equipment that are mounted on a tracked or wheeled platform. These are utilized mostly to convert large-sized rocks into small-sized ones and to screen them according to the preferred sizes. Sufficient force is applied to the material to be crushed between two tangent or parallel solid surfaces. It generates sufficient energy to crush the material through fracturing. Crushers can be divided on the basis of work principle into jaw crushers, cone crushers, impact crushers, and others. Screening is the process of separating granular ore material into various sizes. There are many types of screeners available in the market on the basis of required sizes of the material.

Mobile crushers can be used either for primary crushing or secondary and tertiary crushing at work location for producing finished products. After mining or drilling operations, minerals or rocks are transported to the primary crusher. Jaw and gyratory crushers are capable of attaining a reduction ratio of 2:3 and 3:4, respectively; therefore, these are preferably used as primary crushers. Cone crushers are mostly utilized for secondary crushing since these can handle the top size and capacity of jaw crushers. After passing the product from cone crushers through screeners, the small-sized product is sent for tertiary crushing and the oversized product is recirculated in cone crushers. The crushed particles are again screened with a thick shield screening equipment. The process can be repeated once or twice to get the desired particulate size.
Both crushers and screeners can be used in the mining, quarry, and construction industries to crush rocks and further separate them using screeners. Mobile crushers are primarily used to crush rocks for road and building construction. This reduces the efforts to transport large rock pieces to the stationary crusher and then transport the finished material back to the work location. Increasing urbanization as a result of growing population is one of the major drivers for the market for mobile crushers and screeners. The mobile crushers and screeners market has been segmented on the basis of product and geography. Based on product, the market has been segmented into mobile crushers and mobile screeners. The mobile crushers segment held the largest share of 72.68% of the mobile crushers and screeners market in 2014. The mobile screeners segment held the market share of 27.32% of the mobile crushers and screeners market in 2014; the segment’s share is anticipated to decrease to 24.31% by 2023.
